Scotland Summary

After 22 days in Scotland, 16 of which were spent bicycling almost exactly 1000km (620 miles), I have left to prepare for the next leg of the adventure. On my journey in Scotland, I rode 618 miles, took 1 bus, 4 trains, and 10 ferries.

Over those 618 miles, Scotland provided me with many challenges...

Endless rain, soaking through my water-proofs...

From one of the many ferry rides.

Gale force winds, sometimes preventing me from being able to move myself forward, sometimes forcing me to pedal my way down a downhill...

Saddle sores, often making it really painful to just sit on the bicycle...

Grueling hills, one after the other, some exceeding 15% grade...

These challenges would exhaust my legs to their end, and often make me question my own sanity.

But, fight through the pain and get over those hills, and you will find many things...

I found new friends...
